The comic book character from Marvel’s Deadpool finally got his own movie with many fans excited to see the “Merc with the Mouth” in action. The movie hit the box office with much anticipation, and sold more tickets than any other comic book character on opening weekend.
The movie portrays Wade Wilson (a.k.a. Deadpool) perfectly: from telling his origin story to showing Deadpool's classic raunchy humor to portraying his comic book personality accurately and in depth. The director utilized his knowledge of Deadpool's typical behavior to create excellent comic relief. His witty quips and humor keep the audience laughing throughout the entire movie.
Also, the movie is action-packed with the audience on the edge of their seats to see what the unpredictable character will do next. Deadpool, being a character with darker origins and more mature content than what is more typical of most Marvel characters, still finds a way to be a lighthearted, humorous, and enjoyable. The movie has multiple characters from the Marvel Universe such as Colossus from the X-Men. The storyline also introduces a romantic side to Deadpool who does anything to protect his old girlfriend, whom he left when he got diagnosed with terminal cancer in order to protect her from the pain of his death but eventually reconnected with after her abduction from the villain, Ajax.
The movie offers something for everyone, but it is definitely a rated-R movie as it has mature content. This movie is probably not recommended for children and young teens. Overall, however, Deadpool is an excellent movie with thrills and humor throughout.
